Your Opportunity:

Under the direction of the Outpatient Department Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to oncology patients in an ambulatory care setting. Outpatient Oncology Clinics: The LPN integrates and applies knowledge of cancer pathophysiology, disease progression, and symptom management to assess patients and evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based care, best practices, and clinical interventions. The LPN works collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with professional nursing standards. Care is delivered within outpatient clinics through direct patient care and virtual services, as required, ensuring patients receive safe, compassionate, and comprehensive support throughout their cancer journey. LPN must possess the knowledge to: Identify and assess the physical, psychological, sociological, and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Facilitate referrals to other disciplines as required for further assessment and treatment. Recognize priority and emergency situations, including those unique to cancer therapies and oncologic emergencies. Prioritize and respond to emergency situations efficiently. Apply oncology knowledge and technical skills in patient assessment. Utilize a comprehensive nursing assessment to establish, document, and revise care plans that meet individual patient needs and treatment modalities. Prioritize nursing actions related to teaching, counseling, supporting, informing, and providing care to patients and families. Education: Attain required and recommended certifications and maintain recertification. Participate in staff and/or patient education. Assume responsibility for ongoing professional development. Act as a preceptor to nursing students as required.
