Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 6-12 months recent (within the last year) working in an Ambulatory Cardiology Outpatient Clinic. Demonstrated reliability is essential. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and priority setting skills. Connect Care experience required. Ability to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Ability to participate in hands on patient care (i.e.: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking distances). Must be able to lift, mobilize and transport patients via stretcher and wheelchair. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Basic computer skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with patient teaching. Experience assisting physicians with minor procedures.
