Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:You must have 2 of the last 5 years practicing as a front-line Licensed Practical Nurse on a medical/surgical unit or 1 full year of the last 3 years in an emergency/critical care unit.
Preferred Qualifications:Experienced with IV initiation and management. Experience with stroke management. Direct IV push certification (if do not already have it will be an expectation to be certified on the job). Certification in any of the following courses: Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale. Current Trauma Nursing Course. Advanced Studies in Critical Nursing. Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
