A Long Term Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Manning Community Health Centre in Manning, Alberta provides clinical leadership and day-to-day coordination of resident care within a Long Term Care unit. As an integral member of the patient care team, the LPN supports care delivery consistent with the Licensed Practical Nurse Standards, while mentoring staff, promoting best practices, and ensuring alignment with provincial standards and organizational policies. Reporting to the Care Manager, the role blends direct clinical responsibilities with leadership, collaboration, and operational support, with a strong emphasis on resident safety, quality of care, and person-centered outcomes. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS offers a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually (non-pensionable), payable on an hourly basis for all eligible hours worked at the basic rate of pay.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, co-workers, and public. Accountable for the nursing care provided within the knowledge and skills outlined by the legislation and the profession. Evidence of integrity, initiative and sound judgment as a professional. Commitment to promoting a positive work environment. Ability to provide teaching and emotional support to patient and family. Effectively and efficiently work independently and as a party of a team to provide patient care; contributing to case conferences, nursing care and discharge planning. Accurately observe and assess patient conditions using knowledge of the disease process. Monitor, document, report and respond to changes in patient's physical, mental and/or emotional state. Transfer patients, move equipment, walk, bend and stand frequently during any shift. Provide thorough orientation for new staff members following established checklist. Maintain competency through continuous learning, education and experience. Must be able to work shift work. Must possess basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Rural experience preferred.
