Licensed Practical Nurse
Your Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to add to the 1 East Inpatient Cardiology Unit. As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the overall care plan for each patient with a focus on cardiac care. The unit offers the opportunity for all nursing staff to work to their full scope of practice. The successful candidate will adhere to and maintain current professional practice standards, Code of Ethics, and hospital and program policies and procedures. Unit 1 East is a 28-bed unit, including 4 post angioplasty recovery beds, focusing on the care of cardiology patients. Inpatient Cardiology provides an extensive orientation/training program supported by a strong multidisciplinary team approach, consisting of both classroom and clinical time, with the assistance of a CNE and staff members ranging from novice to expert. Cardiac Services promotes career growth and development and takes pride in adhering to the most current Standards of Care and instilling Nursing Excellence among its staff. Physical demands of the job include sitting and standing for extended periods, lifting/moving/pushing 50-75 lbs with assistance, frequently assisting patients to reposition/stand/sit, using repetitive motions/actions such as typing and computer use for prolonged periods, and extensive telephone use. Successful applicants will be expected to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Maintenance of Active and in Good Standing CLPNA practice permit throughout employment
Preferred Qualifications:Recent adult acute care experience preferred Telemetry monitoring experience preferred. Able to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Connect Care inpatient environment.
