Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge & respect for the diversity of Indigenous populations, communities, culture, and history. Successful completion of training, and experience in administering immunizations & performing phlebotomy. Experience working with complex high-risk clients, addictions, and mental health. Experience with an EMR system (WOLF preferred) and demonstrated aptitude with computers and technology required. Minimum 3 years in primary health care community clinic setting. Experience working with Indigenous people/communities. Experience with difficult clients and shown aptitude for de-escalation. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024. Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated attention to detail & accuracy. Strong communication; ability to relay patient information to other health care providers in a timely, concise, accurate manner in order to facilitate treatment decisions. Ability to balance numerous demands & conflicting priorities. Recent skills with wound care assessment & management. Training in Stages of Change, Trauma Informed Care & Anti-oppressive practice an asset. Certification in and experience with foot care an asset.
