Red Deer Home Care has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse – Health Care Aide Team Lead. In this role, you will be provide guidance, clinical support, supportive mentoring and just in time training for a team of Health Care Aides. The team lead will track HCA education and competencies, assist with hiring and orientation of new staff, maintain a cohesive client schedule and provide input to performance appraisals plus other assigned duties. Working in this fast paced environment, you will need to be flexible, organized, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision, meet time commitments and make decisions in a timely manner. As a team lead, you will implement new initiatives, changes in processes, policy and procedures and be a part of the home care team. You will have close interaction with the Care Manager who you will report to. The LPN team lead will be a part of inter professional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills to ensure the best client outcomes and resource utilization. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality client centered care while reflecting the shares vision and values of AHS. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of LPN experience preferably in Seniors Health. Experience in the home care setting. Previous experience in management or leadership role. Able to work 0600-1415 shifts. Knowledge of the Continuing Care Health Service Standards, Medication Assistance Program and HCA Competencies.
