This Licensed Practical Nurse position provides clinical care for the care of in-patients in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, a subspecialty area. Nursing responsibilities are focused on children and adolescents with complex emotional, behavioral and psychiatric difficulties, and utilizes a family centered model of care. LPNs are responsible to provide quality health care via the use of nursing process in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. This ensures that comprehensive, coordinated and continuous care is provided to children and families. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent child and adolescent in-patient Mental Health experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members. Strong interpersonal skills required. Strong organizational, independent problem solving, and communication skills required. Adaptive and innovative approach given continuously changing environment essential. Computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:Brain Story Certification. Training in and excellent working knowledge of Collaborative Problem Solving, Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed Care. Experience using evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders. Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).
