Your Opportunity:

This exciting opportunity with the Medical Float Pool will involve training and working on the various medical units at Red Deer Regional Hospital. You will gain valuable experience in different clinical areas on different medical units. You will work closely with a variety of different physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience working in one of the following areas: neurology/stroke, nephrology, palliative/oncology, and/or general internal medicine. Recent experience working in a medical float pool. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered please attach a resume and cover letter with your application. Advanced authorizations through CLPNA are required for medication administration via a central line (CVC, PICC, or IVAD) and administering parenteral nutrition.
