Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Basic computer skills, Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Must be able to work in an interdisciplinary team environment. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Able to work shift work. Able to meet the physical demands of the position. Must have an excellent attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent gerontology nursing experience and/or education an asset. Experience in a continuing care environment within the last three years. Experience with the RAI-MDS. Experience using Connect Care.
