The Galahad Care Centre is a designated supportive living 4 dementia unit. They are looking to mentor and support a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its facility and work within a Residential care setting. Galahad is a hamlet in east-central Alberta, Canada within Flagstaff County. It is located just a few miles north of the Battle River valley on a former Canadian National rail line. Galahad represents the grace and beauty of Alberta's heartland. Situated just north of the beautiful Battle River Valley, it is centered between Killam and Castor on Highways 861 and 36. Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Basic computer skills. Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Must be able to work in an interdisciplinary team environment as well as to work independently to full scope of LPN practice. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Able to meet the physical demands of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with RAI-MDS/inter-RAI HC assessment tool and computer charting. Experience with Connect Care.
