Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year of Addictions and Mental Health experience within the last 3 years. New grads who have completed a final preceptorship in an Addiction and Mental Health site may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Nursing experience in an acute care setting. Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health related resources across the Calgary Zone. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques. Knowledge of how to intervene is an asset. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Knowledge of the DSM V-TR. Experience in various risk assessments. Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI). Preferred experience working in community crisis support will also be considered.
