Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of one (1) years of Nursing experience within last three (3) years in a Day Surgery unit. Previous experience providing education to patient populations. Demonstrated positive and effective interpersonal and communication skills through computer, verbal and written means, in a professional and mature manner. Demonstrated initiative and independence in a team environment. Strong critical thinking and communication skills. Working to full scope of practice as a LPN (including IV certification, medication administration). Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 years’ experience as a LPN within the last 5 years in an acute inpatient surgical nursing unit. Experience using Connect Care. Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity Training. Experience working with diverse communities, groups and/or organizations (i.e. ethno-cultural, equity-setting, racialized, faith-based, LGBTQ2S+, vulnerable, marginalized, persons with disabilities, and persons across all age groups, etc.).
