Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent Neuroscience experience required, 6 months to 1 year. Lumbar Drain, ISNCSCI Spinal Assessment and TORBSST trained. Active registration and practice permit with the CLPNA. The candidate must have the physical capability to perform all aspects of the role, including the ability to lift up to and including 50 lbs. Basic computer skills required. Strong leadership and critical thinking skills, demonstrated by the ability to direct other healthcare workers, problem solve and escalate clinical concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills and must be committed to patient and family centered care. Demonstrated ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with patients, families and team members. Successful applicants will undergo Neuroscience Orientation Classes. Upon completion of classes the candidate is required to achieve a minimum pass rate of 80% on the Neurosciences Exam in order to successfully enter the Program. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the CLPNA and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:1 to 2 years of Neuroscience experience preferred. Connect care related experience preferred.
