Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous Emergency Department experience OR Two years Medical/Surgical/Labor and Delivery experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated critical thinking. In this position you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing). You must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, push, pull, and lift equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:CTAS Triage experience preferred. Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following certifications: Ortho tec, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and EPIC. Experience and ability to work with cardiac monitors preferred. Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation of ECG’s preferred.
