Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:Successful completion of the orientation program and medication exam is required. Must have excellent assessment, critical thinking, organization, and patient care skills. Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently and using sound professional judgment. Must be able to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Physical demands include: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, lifting, pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or transferring patients.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years experience working within a correctional environment, an acute care facility or psychiatric program preferred.
