Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current and/or recent experience working in an Addictions and Mental health setting. If new graduate, must have had preceptorship in relevant Addiction & Mental Health area immediately prior. Ability to complete complex biopsychosocial assessments, behavioral risk assessments, withdrawal assessments. Client Centered and Trauma informed philosophy of care. Knowledge and competence in de-escalating potentially volatile and violent situations. Knowledge/Understanding of DSM-V.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current and/or recent experience in an adult medical detox setting. Understanding of harm reduction strategies and training in Opioid Agonist Therapy. Completion of Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Brief Solution-Focused Therapy training. Previous experience facilitation/co-facilitating groups.
