Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills. Basic computer experience is necessary. The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to work well independently and within a team. Demonstrates ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision making ability. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment; constant walking, lifting and bending necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within the CoACT framework and Connect Care experience preferred. Certification in care of PICC lines is an asset. Experience in care of medical, post-operative surgical, orthopedic and Subacute/Transition patients is desired.
