Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic computer skills are required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and a strong Family Centered Care philosophy are required. Demonstrated ability, to use critical thinking skills including clinical judgment and problem solving skills. Demonstrated effective patient teaching experience (both written and verbal). Demonstrated high functioning time-management and organizational skills required. Note this position may be eligible for an educational opportunity: 2 week classes beginning August 29th, 2022. The incumbent will be trained to have a thorough understanding of the care of the level 2 neonatal patients. Successful pass of a Math Calculation Competency Assessment of 90% is required to be considered for hire.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working to the full scope of LPN practice- including medication administration (including IV), advanced physical assessment competency preferred. Recent/current experience as a LPN in an acute care or pediatric setting is preferred.
