Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:Graduation from a recognized nursing education program. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year recent surgical experience (within the past 1-2 years). Candidates with Colorectal?General Surgery experience are preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills are required. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the team relationships and must possess a demonstrated enthusiasm for life', a strong work ethic, creativity, effective interpersonal communication skills, and a personal commitment to ongoing professional development. The successful candidate will be required to participate in Unit-based Quality Improvement projects and will also act as compelling advocate for improvements related to Best Practice initiatives and Patient& Family Centered Care practices. Basic computer skills are required. Prior experience with Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM). Our primary focus of surgical care supports the patient that is undergoing bowel or general surgery procedures.Our patient population does require the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to possess a high degree of clinical nursing skills and critical thinking ability. LPN professional growth is supported by the collaborative identification of individual learning needs and strategic performance goal setting which is intended to assist the nurse achieve a standard of excellence in nursing care practice.
