Your Opportunity:

Rimbey is a small town of approximately 2600 and is located approximately 45 minutes north west of Red Deer. Our facility serves the town and surrounding rural area and communities including Eckville, Winfield, Buck Lake, Bluffton, Bentley, Breton, and Sylvan Lake. Our hospital was rebuilt in 2008 and contains a 23 bed acute care unit, 12 bed ER and 1 bed obstetrical suite. Our multidisciplinary team works closely together to service all of the needs of our residents.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

N95 fit testing required. Ability to function capably in an acute care environment and manage admissions/discharges and prioritize care needs for Acute Medical population. Must be able to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. The successful applicant will be receptive to and participate in unit and site change initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years recent acute care, ER, and obstetrical experience preferred. CTAS, Trauma 101, CAM-B, NRP and Pediatric Building Blocks preferred.
