Required Qualifications:

A high school or GED diploma. 2 years’ experience working with Northern Indigenous communities. Equivalent education and experience will also be considered (i.e., Licensed Practical Nurse, Community Health Representative & work experience in Indigenous communities). Knowledge of Indigenous health issues, challenges and concerns is essential for success in this position. A well-developed understanding of community-based work in an Indigenous community setting. Ability to be self-directed to meet demands and perform essential functions as outlined in the job description. Willing and able to travel to remote locations and lengthy vehicle travel. Willingness and flexibility to work outside regular hours with occasional need to work extended hours. Excellent facilitation, team building, negotiation and conflict management skills as they apply to multidisciplinary teams. Proficient and demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel). Ability to operate technological equipment including (computer, projector, teleconference/ videoconference units, etc.). Knowledge of health legislation and policies that impact Indigenous populations.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Self-directed with strong project management skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks. Excellent interpersonal and team skills. Seeks guidance to connect with external partners to AHS. Liaises with internal and external contacts to participate in evaluation activities. Knowledge of modifiable risk factors, Indigenous research methodologies, health promotion and disease prevention, including strategies and best practice evidence related to Hepatitis C and STBBIs. Ability to manage and prioritize work and meet deadlines. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience maintaining effective collaborations within diverse AHS stakeholder groups (i.e., SCNs) Conflict management expertise focusing on group dynamics and diverse priorities. Aptitude for building and sustaining complex relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Nursing, or related field is preferred.
