Required Qualifications:

Qualified to practice law in Alberta and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. Five (5) to seven (7) years’ relevant experience (excluding articling year). Demonstrated excellence as a practicing lawyer in commercial matters with excellent legal and analytic skills. Motivated to learn, independent, self-starter. Adaptable and flexible. Capable of facilitating and supporting change. Superior communication skills. Strong negotiating and drafting competencies.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proven ability to perform well in complex matters, prioritize and deal with multiple assignments, all under significant time and other pressures. Proven ability to work with senior management and leadership. Demonstrated business acumen with ability to balance business requirements against legal risks, formulate legal solutions to advance the needs of assigned client groups. Knowledge and skills in problem solving and concerns resolution. Strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to work with others to achieve common goals. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to respond to requests and relay information.
