You are currently member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta entitled to practice in Alberta, or currently practicing in another Canadian jurisdiction with the ability to immediately apply for membership in Alberta. You also have a law degree from a recognized university and a minimum of 7 years of legal practice, of which 3 years are focused on labour, employment, and human rights. Your knowledge and experience with applicable legislation including the Alberta Labour Relations Code, Employment Standards Code, and the Alberta Human Rights Act is superb.

In addition to excellent legal, analytical and advocacy skills, you have superior communication skills, strong organizational and influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. You are also creative and innovative in providing solutions. You are motivated to learn, independent, a self-starter with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and able to work with others to achieve common goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience representing clients in the public sector, administrative tribunals, arbitrations or litigation, and experience in a unionized environment is an asset. Ideally you have been working for employers with a unionized workforce, can navigate a collective agreement with ease and have participated collective bargaining. While equivalencies may be considered, direct experience before Labour Relations Boards and Human Rights Tribunals is strongly preferred.
