Your Opportunity:

Position provides technical support to Local FM&E management and coordination to the RDRH Redevelopment project. Position will provide Key communication of site Electrical and mechanical systems to the Alberta Infrastructure project at Red Deer Regional. Responsibilities will include reviewing site impacts caused by the replacement of the site utility services, Electrical and heating equipment. Position will assist in all planned facility infrastructure outages required by the project. This will include mitigation and FMEA planning. Key responsibilities will focus on ABSA requirements for the Power plant portion of the Project.

Description:

The Lead, Technical Support is a key leadership role in Facilities Maintenance & Engineering and reports directly to the Director, Facilities Maintenance & Engineering - Central Zone. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the organization of Technical Support within RDRH FME in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities will also include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Facilities Maintenance & Engineering and Capital Management. The Lead, Technical Support will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to provide leadership to the Facilities Maintenance & Engineering.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of Trade certification in a major building trade and previous related experience or other recognized designations or equivalencies. Ten (10) years of facility operations experience, or ten (10) years of project management experience, preferably in an acute care facility of significant size, complexity and diversity.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results. Progressive leadership experience in an engineering or technical environment, including 5 years’ experience in a management role in related operations. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.


Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education with an Engineering degree in Mechanical. Must be a member or qualify for registration with APEGGA. Please enter information in this field.
