Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Three years experience working as an MLT in Chemistry within the last five years. Experience in the development, review, and revision of policies, procedures, or forms. Knowledge and experience in use of electronic document management systems e.g. SoftTech DMS. Understanding of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta standards for Diagnostic Laboratory Accreditation and knowledge of the steps an APL department can take to ensure that they are compliant with standards and prepared for an accreditation assessment. Intermediate Microsoft WORD, VISIO and EXCEL skills required. Experience in proficiency testing, competency assessment, non-conforming event reporting, external assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of the processes associated with the validation, calibration, maintenance, and problem resolution of laboratory equipment and analyzers. Demonstrated organizational, analytical reasoning, and decision-making skills. Attainment of a Quality Management System Certificate or equivalent post-secondary education in Quality Management Systems, or knowledge of Quality Management Systems. Proven time management skills.
