Completion of Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Microbiology (or related field). Equivalencies will be considered. Technical knowledge of and experience performing appropriate molecular methodologies and testing techniques. Experience with next-generation or whole genome sequencing techniques and knowledge of bioinformatics analysis of sequence data for phylogenetic interpretation. Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Current registration with College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta. Minimum one year current clinical experience in a specialized Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory. Proven critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, planning and decision making skills. Knowledge of relevant software. Demonstrated understanding of the philosophy of quality systems improvement. Proven interpersonal skills for dealing with people in a team oriented environment.
