Laboratory Scientist I
Your Opportunity:
The laboratory scientist I performs work to support the Edmonton Fecal Microbiota Transplantation Program. This involves laboratory processes including donor screening, product manufacturing, research and development, test method implementation and change, clinical trials and routine testing. Primary role of lab scientist will be for the collection, storage, testing, maintenance and manufacturing of FMT samples, donation and aliquots. Liaison and coordination with donors regarding samples/donations forms part of the workflow. Responsibilities include coordinating with donors for screening and product manufacturing, conduction experiments, carrying out analyses, equipment operation and providing technical support to physicians, staff and patients. Additional activities may include providing assistance with research protocols, development and streamlining of processes and procedures, providing mentorship for students, and maintaining laboratory inventories. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work independently, possess strong communication skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day tasks.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Laboratory Science.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent working experience as a laboratory scientist. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Connect Care Experience Experience with database management, data entry and ability to compile and generate reports. Ability to ambulate between different buildings and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with FMT manufacturing, Health Canada regulations on FMT Connect Care Experience Experience within a health care facility
