Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Competency in phlebotomy. Proficiency in data entry. Inpatient phlebotomy and data entry experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity within the last year. LIS experience (Millennium and/or Epic). Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last six months. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Ability to maintain strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in neonatal skin puncture. Courses or certificates in personal leadership development. Courses or training in process improvement or change management. Demonstrates initiative, analytical thinking and problem solving skills. Experience interpreting workflow visuals and ability to respond appropriately to meet turn around times. Ability to lead self through change. National certification with CSMLS. WHMIS 2015 certification. Intermediate competency in Microsoft office.
