Kinesiologist
Your Opportunity:
As a Kinesiologist, you will be working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, utilizing evidence-based and client-centered practice. You may be performing assessment of exercise tolerance for the purpose of developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining appropriate exercise plan/programs as well as referring patients appropriately to other healthcare programs and/or services. You will take a health promotion perspective, providing self-management support and guiding the patient towards achieving improvements in their health and physical functioning by conducting pre-participation evaluations, screening of health status, and outcome measurement tests. You may be developing, supervising, monitoring and modifying the exercise programs, supervising patients both individually and in a group-focused program and providing education to patients and their families. This position is based in Red Deer.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent exercise science degree. Current Clinical Exercise Physiologist to (CSEP) or the American College of Sports Medicine's Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Cardiac Life Support/Health Care Provider (BCLS/HCP) Level C certification required. Minimum of 3 years of current Program Development experience (in the past 5 years) and delivering rehabilitative exercise program to patients with chronic health challenges is required. Minimum of 2 years of nephrology experience (within 3 years). Will consider 2 years of chronic disease management such as heart failure (within 3 years).
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent communication skills with individuals with disabilities and the elderly. Ability to function effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written skills). Previous experience with EMR preferred. Basic computer skills. Connect Care experience preferred.
