Completion of bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent exercise science degree. Current Clinical Exercise Physiologist to (CSEP) or the American College of Sports Medicine's Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum three years, in the past five years, experience working with adults that have various chronic health conditions in a clinical or community exercise setting. Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills, and proficiency in the following areas: applied clinical exercise physiology for adults with various chronic health conditions; group facilitation and adult education, including the use of approaches that enhance patient care, health promotion, and self-management. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening. Experience and demonstrated competency in working effectively and efficiently in a collaborative, consultative manner as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with a wide variety of clients, care providers, and team members. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a rapidly changing work environment. Experience working with culturally diverse and vulnerable populations. Knowledge of information systems, databases, and computers.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of training and applied experience in chronic disease management, motivational interviewing, and health coaching. Experience providing virtual group exercise programing and one-on-one health coaching support. Recent experience working with the Alberta Healthy Living Program.
