Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:2 year-Electronics Technologist certification or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution. 4 years of industry experience in radio systems, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of radio equipment. Strong understanding of radio frequency (RF) fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot RF-related issues. Proficient in using a wide range of electronics test equipment, such as multimeters, signal generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, cable analyzers, and radio analyzers. Experienced in repairing and programming two-way radios, antennas, and coaxial cables, with a solid understanding of radio frequency radiation exposure and safety precautions. experienced with hand tools and basic test equipment. Proficient in soldering cables, connectors, and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Preferred Qualifications:Certified Engineering Technologist. MS windows and Office applications experience. IT Service Management tool experience (Service NOW). Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, and their use in data transmission. Knowledge of IP addressing schemes, including subnetting and Address allocation. Knowledge of LAN and WAN network topologies. Experience with Voice Logging technology as it is used in a first responder environment. Experience with distributed antenna systems.
