IT Analyst II
Your Opportunity:
You are a highly driven professional who thrives on making a positive improvement on the health of Albertans through the Information Technology department. Reporting to the Manager, Patient Care Systems Development, Information Technology, the incumbent will work with a team of software developers. You will support clinical software with a focus on the clinical business processes within a large integrated clinical program. The incumbent will also work closely with the other support teams within IT and business leads from a variety of clinical departments. Responsibilities involve projects, ongoing system maintenance, enhancements and data management, with the purpose of delivering high quality information to support front-line clinical users. The successful candidate will utilize strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent interpersonal talents in a clinical customer service environment. The successful applicant will be able to work independently and effectively under the general supervision of the manager.
Description:
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:A recognized post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or a related field. Proficiency in .Net web development, n-Tier framework, IIS, SQL and source code control. 10 years’ experience in .NET technologies (MVC, C#, VB.NET), Java(J2EE), JQuery, JavaScript, XML and SQL. Strong database maintenance capabilities, including designing tables and views; performing DML operations; writing optimized queries and stored procedures across complex, multi‑table relationships; implementing triggers, cursors and dynamic SQL to support full‑stack application functionality. Ability to architect and develop a custom content management system, including designing scalable data models, building secure backend APIs, implementing intuitive admin interfaces, managing user roles and permissions, and integrating content workflows that support dynamic, data‑driven applications. Experience integrating with Epic using FHIR standards, including implementing secure OAuth2‑based authentication, consuming and managing FHIR resources, coordinating data exchange through Epic’s APIs, and ensuring compliance with healthcare interoperability and security requirements. Extensive understanding of various clinical departments and associated systems used in AHS such as Digital Meal Voucher (DMV), Pediatric Eating and Swallowing (PEAS), Onecare Path (OCP), Stollery Bear Care, and Conservative Kidney Management (CKM).
Preferred Qualifications:Provide advanced application development and support, including consulting, analysis, problem‑solving, and coordination with IT teams. Advise on IT strategy and technical initiatives. Develop and deploy fixes, collaborate across service areas, investigate root causes, and manage multiple priorities with strong client communication. Health‑care experience and ITIL Foundation are assets.
