IT Analyst II

As a valued member of the Windows Server Operations team, you will deliver quality service in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. You will use your conceptual and practical experience to interpret clients’ needs, assess their requirements, investigate, diagnose, and resolve environment problems, which are essential to business functions. Primary Responsibilities: Act as an escalation point for complex incident and problem management. Plan, coordinate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical, systems, business, vendors, etc) to assess problem scope, impact, and characteristics. Monitor systems to ensure stability and optimal performance, proactively addressing issues or responding quickly to crisis situations. Build, configure, and decommission server hardware including rackmount, and blade enclosure systems, according to defined procedures and best practices. Adhere to all protocols and standard operating procedures ensuring all solutions are thoroughly validated to assure the stability of production environments. Research, propose and participate in process improvements for all Windows environments throughout the organization. Create and maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, and technical documentation. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, and after-hours maintenance activities. Understand, develop, and document design requirements and considerations. Travel to various locations in the Alberta to provide operational support.
Description:
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:4+ years of experience with Windows server technologies. 3+ years of experience with rackmount server hardware in an enterprise environment. Excellent troubleshooting skills in Microsoft technologies, clustering, HP/Dell server platforms. Good knowledge of Group Policy and Active Directory. Good understanding of PowerShell and scripts creation. Experience with VMWare. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server. Expand conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in remote teams. Effective time management abilities. Highly self-motivated and directed. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-moving environment. Demonstrated ability to develop and lead small to medium sized infrastructure improvement projects. Experience working in virtualization environments. Ability to work in a 24/7 on-call rotation and perform after-hours maintenance work when required.
Preferred Qualifications:Microsoft Server certifications in other related technology. Enterprise experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server. Experience with Group Policy. Experience using VMWare. ITIL certification. Strong experience in Windows Clustering. Experience with Agile and Project Management methodologies. Experience with ServiceNow an asset. Experience with IAAS Cloud experience (Azure, AWS) as asset. 3+ years of experience with HP/Dell enclosure/blades environments.
