IT Analyst II
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager – Alberta Netcare Portal, the IT Analyst is responsible for the support, development and configuration for the Alberta Netcare Portal, NWT HealthNet Viewer and Electronic Referral Management operations. These services have provincial geographical and organizational scope serving health care providers within and external to AHS. This position contributes to ensuring service continuity of Alberta Netcare Portal, one of AHS’s four tier one critical systems, used in the delivery of patient care throughout the province.
Description:
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in information technology in a development role. Must be proficient with Java Web Development, Web Services, database platforms, including Oracle 19 or above and development tools including PL/SQL, Oracle reports, SQL Developer. Must be proficient with Apache, Tomcat, Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML and HTML debugging tools. Must have experience with RedHat Linux and Windows operating system platforms. Experience working with XSLT and CSS. Experience working in a Citrix environment. Experience with technical architecting, modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis. Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to identify links between business strategy and technology solutions. Knowledge of linkages between processes of healthcare delivery and technology. Ability to set personal deadlines, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes in priority. Knowledge of emerging trends in technology relating to software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a healthcare environment is an asset. Experience working with Orion Health products is considered an asset. Jmeter, Loadrunner, and experience with Virtualization technologies is an asset.
