Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The candidate will also require an effective communication style, as the position requires continual interaction with customers and IT teams across Alberta. Intimate knowledge of electrical theory in Data Centres and good understanding of ASHRAE cooling requirements is vital to this position. In addition, basic understanding of copper and fibre structured cabling and theoretical practice is an asset. He or she should be willing to work with IT preferred vendors to provide a solution best suited for AHS and the position demands an independent thinker who can provide solutions that are aligned with AHS's Data Centre strategy and goals. The individual will require the ability to travel within Calgary and Southern Alberta on occasion and participate in an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Four to six years’ experience working in a large and complex IT Data Centre. This would include firsthand experience in Data Centre racking and asset power requirements. In addition, the individual should have a minimum of four years hands-on experience working and understanding UPS and HVAC systems utilized within medium to large data environments. Two years’ experience working with DCIM tools would be beneficial. Data Centre Management specific training/certification.
