Have a minimum 2-year completed post-secondary diploma in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field, or relevant experience as a Police Officer, Alberta Peace Officer or equivalent position. Must be eligible for and maintain appointment as an Alberta Peace Officer Level 2 in accordance with the Public Security Peace Officer Program (Peace officers – Overview | Alberta.ca), the Alberta Peace Officer Act and Regulation. A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered. Hold a valid Class 5, non-GDL Alberta Operator’s Licence. Completed the Alberta Peace Officer Investigations Program, or Police Officer Training, or training deemed equivalent by the Alberta Public Security Peace Officer program.
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years' experience in regulatory inspections and/or investigations. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making including appropriate use of enforcement in regulatory inspections and investigations. Thorough knowledge of: the rules of evidence, court proceedings, and surveillance techniques.
