Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current NRP instructor certification required. At least 5 years recent (within the last 7 years) experience in perinatal nursing in a Level 2 facility with 4500 births per year is required. At least one year of experience of adult education in a clinical setting required. Demonstration of excellent group facilitation skills required. Demonstration of excellent communication, collaboration and conflict resolution skills required. Demonstration of excellent critical thinking, prioritization and time management skills required. English proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated effectiveness as a clinical role model and leader required. Demonstrated proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as MORE Ob core team member preferred. WISE instructor certification preferred. Experience as charge nurse on perinatal unit preferred. Experience in change management, curriculum design/ evaluation preferred. Experience in other areas of perinatal nursing an asset.
