Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing required. Advanced Clinical expertise required; 5 years recent clinical experience in Addiction and Mental Health. Current BLS certification. Current CARNA or CRPNA professional registration required. Recent teaching experience required. Above average computer skills essential. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Skills/ Abilities/ Competencies: To be successful in this position, it is necessary for candidates to be/have: Self-directed, self-motivated. Flexible and adaptable. Ability to prioritize work and complete projects/work in a timely manner. Recognize and maintain confidentiality. Strong analytic skills. Research skills to identify information sources, determine how evidence informs clinical practice and provide current, relevant education. Assessment skills to recognize and respond appropriately to staff learning requirements. Proficiency in the use of computers for word processing and presentations is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. 2 years formal experience as a CNE preferred. Consideration will be given to formal coaching and mentoring work with adults.
