Your Opportunity:
As an educator working within a centralized education department, you will be responsible for providing education to staff in rural hospitals within Alberta Health Services, Central Corridor. Your responsibilities will be to develop, coordinate, facilitate and deliver education as required, with the main focus being on Acute care and Emergency department education needs. You will partner with other clinical educators and clinical experts from other portfolios to develop and facilitate education that spans across portfolios. *This position supports Hanna, Oyen and Coronation. The office location is negotiable to any of these three sites, depending on the successful applicant.
Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:5 years recent rural nursing experience (Acute Care/Medicine and Emergency). Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. 2 years teaching experience preferably with an adult focus in a health care setting. Strong computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook as well as TEAMS and ZOOM. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently, but also ability to work collaboratively as part of a virtual team.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference for certification in ACLS, TNCC, PALS, CTAS and/or NRP. This position may require a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle is good repair for work related travel is required. Previous experience with simulation training, SimSkills training an asset. Strong knowledge of the Connect Care system and documentation processes.
