Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 3 years recent experience in Nephrology required (within the last 5 years) – specifically in chronic kidney disease clinics, glomerulonephritis clinics or diabetic nephropathy clinics. Teaching/facilitation skills in large group settings utilizing knowledge of adult learning principles. Involvement in developing/delivering and implementing educational programs or initiatives an asset. Change management knowledge and experience required. Time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize competing demands. Leadership skills, including excellent analytical skills, a demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and ability to build confidence in others. Effective communicator with strong organization skills and commitment to providing quality services. Knowledge of practice-related education resources to support staff. Skilled in retrieval and appraisal of evidence from a variety of credible sources to provide current accurate information. Intermediate proficiency in keyboarding skills, MS Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care experience an asset. Chronic disease management an asset. Certificate in Nephrology (CNA) preferred. Previous assessment skills to recognize and respond appropriately to staff learning requirements an asset.
