Your Opportunity:

The nursing educator will work collaboratively with and as a member of the Seniors Health Education Team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the education and clinical development of Seniors Health Staff across the Zone (including 2 North, Home Care, Long Term Care, Transition Services, Access Centre, Palliative Care and Specialty Geriatric / Teams and their areas.

Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years clinical practice in an Acute Care setting and or combined with Seniors Health backgrounding. Minimum of 3-5 years’ Experience in Adult Education. Demonstrates strong leadership in role focused project work. Additional educational, advanced acute care skill set, and clinical preparation across the Seniors Health spectrum required. excellent organizational skills, critical, communication, and systems / flow thinking skills. Case management and experience in Adult Learning Principles will be given be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated performance: High Level of Adult Assessment, advanced and active use of Acute Care Skill Set. Organize and implement educational opportunities and learnings -ability to take the Lead in project development within the department. Understanding of the professional practice standards, AHS policies and procedures, CCHSS, connect care, RAI, and MLL programming and educational requirements for Seniors Health required. Ability to function in the virtual setting.
