Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services is recruiting for a Temporary, full-time Industrial Mechanic to join our Facilities Maintenance and Engineering team at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. The Industrial Mechanic, while observing our safe work procedures, will perform preventative and repair maintenance on our critical building systems and equipment. This includes, but not limited to, testing, inspecting, lubricating, repairing, and rebuilding of systems such as fans, motors, shafts, pulleys, compressors, vacuum pumps, fluid pumps, OR tables and other existing equipment throughout our facility. The Industrial Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and updating records of repair and service, manuals, diagrams, record drawings, and documentation related to our computerized maintenance management system for preventative and demand maintenance orders. You will conduct inventory checks for consumable items, sourcing out parts, and completing purchase requisitions to attain parts required for repair. Industrial Mechanic will participate in the review, updating, and creation of new safe work procedures for day-to-day tasks. Knowledge of control of hazardous energy will be critical to ensure that work is performed safely each day. Participation in daily safety toolbox meetings and monthly safety meetings is expected. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Industrial Mechanic with similar experience on systems found within a health care facility. We are looking for someone who can work well in a team atmosphere, as well as independently, and who strives to perform at a high level while ensuring the safety of themselves and others, and the continuous operation of our facilities equipment.

Description:

As an Industrial Mechanic, you will perform a wide variety of journeyperson level duties associated with the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in accordance with building codes, blueprints, standards and practices. You will install, maintain, balance, test, troubleshoot and repair of all rotating and rolling stock equipment. In addition, you will perform operational maintenance and repairs using procedures such as vibration analysis and replace or repair defective parts when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

Class 5 Driver's License.
