Your Opportunity:

As a key member of the AKC‑N leadership team, this role provides project coordination, management, and leadership for program expansions, including conducting needs and readiness assessments, leading equipment planning, supporting renovations, coordinating implementation activities, and preparing comprehensive written reports to inform decision‑making. The role works closely with Health Shared Services partners—including Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM) and Capital Management including Clinical Engineering —as well as AHS AKC‑N leadership to ensure alignment, coordination, and effective execution of operational and capital priorities. The role is responsible for leading capital equipment lifecycle planning, optimizing supply chain operations, working with vendors, and supporting operational and expansion projects across AKC‑N. The position ensures that clinical areas have reliable, safe, and cost‑effective equipment and supplies by coordinating procurement, tracking assets, monitoring vendor performance. Through proactive planning, rigorous oversight, clear written analysis, and cross‑program collaboration, this position supports AKC‑N’s ability to maintain high‑quality patient care, operational continuity, and strategic growth.

Description:

Project Management: Support AKC‑N leadership with planning and project leadership for program expansion, renovations, and other operational initiatives as assigned. Provide analyses on equipment, supply chain, and vendor impacts for proposed expansions. Conduct need and readiness assessments and identify requirements for new or expanded services. Coordinate acquisition, installation, commissioning, and supply setup for expanded clinical areas. Participate in planning committees and working groups to ensure operational alignment. Develop written reports (briefings, needs assessments, decision requests, recommendations) to support program changes. Capital Equipment Planning & Lifecycle Coordination: Lead annual/multi-year capital planning and prioritization with AKC‑N leadership. Coordinate equipment acquisition, installation, commissioning, training coordination, and end-of-life planning. Maintain detailed asset inventories and lifecycle documentation. Collaborate with clinical engineering to monitor maintenance, recalls, and safety notices. Track and coordinate key contracts in collaboration with Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM). Maintain a renewal calendar, prepare decision-support materials, and flag risks to leadership. Monitor vendor performance and escalate issues when needed. Supply Chain Oversight, Coordination & Optimization: Lead standardized, fiscally responsible and reliable supply processes across AKC‑N. Manage backorders, substitutions, and inventory levels to prevent disruptions. Analyze usage, cost trends, and propose optimization or standardization initiatives. Support new product trials and evaluate operational feasibility. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to capital and supply expenditures.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a related discipline. Note - Biomedical Engineering Technologist Diploma or other applicable diploma may be considered in place of an undergraduate degree.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years project management experience in a healthcare environment. Experience working with eManager and Oracle. Ability to plan and coordinate operational projects (renovations, expansions, implementations). Skills in conducting readiness assessments, needs analyses, and operational impact reviews. Experience preparing briefing notes, reports, or decision‑support documents. Strong written and verbal communication for interacting with various stakeholders. Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and document/report creation. Ability to track deadlines, renewals, and contract milestones. Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through.


Preferred Qualifications:

PMP, PROSCI, PgMP, Lean/Quality Improvement certifications. Demonstrates adaptability in applying project management methodologies, balancing best practices with operational realities. Knowledge of renal services, experience working with Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management, AHS supply chain processes, capital management, equipment and supply coordination. Ability to build cost benefit analyses, lifecycle costing models, or Total Cost of Ownership analyses.
