Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Ergonomics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Design, Health Informatics, etc.) specializing in human factors. Demonstrable human factors body of knowledge including concepts, processes, design principles and tools. In-depth knowledge of user-centered design methodologies including ethnographic studies, task and user analysis methods, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing. Ability to plan, prepare and conduct both formal and informal usability assessments and evaluations. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment and ability to maintain collaborative relationships with all members of the team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation and technical writing abilities. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities; detail-oriented, self-driven, fast learner. Demonstrable project management skills (setting and managing scope, tasks, team members, schedules). Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects at the same time.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be willing to travel throughout the province as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Combination of Bachelor’s degree, certification, or a minimum of 3 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree. Understanding of the healthcare industry. Experience applying human factors industry standards. Understanding of academic research and publishing. Experience developing design concepts, work flows, information architectures, wireframes etc. Experience designing within technological and environmental constraints. Client-management skills.
