Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12.

Additional Required Qualifications:

High School education or recognized equivalent along with a 2-year post-secondary program in horticulture, or equivalent experience. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in grounds / horticulture is required. Must possess knowledge and skills to operate specialty tools and equipment. Must also demonstrate technician problem-solving abilities and be mechanically inclined. Heavy Equipment Operator Certification. Tree Pruning Certification. Pesticide Applicator license is desired (or ability to obtain same). Must have prior experience leading a team in a supervisory position. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. No physical limitations with regards to sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc. Must be familiar with snow removal and lawn maintenance equipment. Must possess basic computer skills, in addition to good verbal and written communication skills.
