Completion of bachelor's degree in a health related field.
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience: Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience in health promotion or related field with substantial experience working with complex networks and partnerships. Demonstrated experience with project/program management and program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Knowledge and expertise in health promotion. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the population health promotion model, relevant health promotion strategies and determinants of health. Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and interpersonal). Demonstrated ability in report and grant writing. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of disciplines, sectors, and partners. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and mobilize diverse groups and build consensus. Demonstrated ability to develop and apply creative approaches to program planning and development. Demonstrated critical thinking skills. Knowledge of various research methods and ability to interpret data. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.). Physical Effort / Strength Required: Occasional physical demands include lifting, pulling and pushing, sitting, walking, standing, transferring and transporting educational materials and supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in health related discipline preferred. Special consideration will be given to person with a concentration in health promotion, particularly as related to children and youth. Knowledge of and experience with comprehensive school health / health promoting schools is an asset. Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
