Your Opportunity:

The Health Promotion Facilitator II – Team Lead plays a vital leadership role within the Central Health Promotion team, utilizing exceptional team building and mentorship skills to support capacity development. This position provides consultation, education, leadership, and facilitation to guide and support team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills. The Team Lead is responsible for facilitating orientation for new staff and creating opportunities for ongoing knowledge acquisition and skill development for all staff in the program. Working within the framework of the Central Public Health Plan, the Team Lead applies community development principles to plan, coordinate, implement, and provide evaluation of health promotion initiatives. The role is accountable to the Area Manager for achieving strategic outcomes and advancing public health priorities across the zone, while also contributing to representative work at the provincial level. In addition to supporting the Health Promotion Facilitator team, the Team Lead applies quality improvement processes to ensure health programming is effectively planned, implemented, and evaluated. Exceptional collaborative communication with internal and external partners is required to ensure program success. The Team Lead works closely with provincial and multi-zone partners to align strategies and integrate evidence-based practices into local initiatives. This role also celebrates and promotes team successes to expand the scope of practice and champion health and wellness. In consultation with the Area Manager, the Team Lead provides operational support to ensure program obligations and deadlines are met.

Description:

As a Health Promotion Facilitator II, you will lead and coordinate health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives and programs using a population health promotion approach. You will identify behavioural, social, political, economic, environmental and organizational factors that promote or compromise health and recommend evidence-informed strategies to address identified priorities. You will conduct situational analyses, literature reviews, environmental scans and focus groups to make recommendations as part of an integrated program planning and evaluation process. You will manage projects using standardized tools and techniques that are conducive or aligned with health promotion, disease and injury prevention practices. You will collaborate with key internal and external key stakeholders in project or program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement. You will facilitate community and staff engagement and build community and staff capacity around population health promotion priorities. You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and make recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated exceptional communication skills. Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience in health promotion/population public health. Knowledge of Determinants of Health, Community Development Approach, Pan-Canadian Health Promoter Competencies, Comprehensive School Health approach, and Healthy Built Environments.
