Health Promotion Facilitator II
Your Opportunity:
Join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing public health communication and engagement efforts across Alberta. In this role, you will work closely with partners — including Alberta Health Services and Primary Care Alberta team members — to support engagement and communication efforts that enhance awareness and understanding of population and public health programs and services. You’ll contribute to the delivery of population-based interventions that integrate health equity and improve health outcomes. Reporting to the Team Lead, Internal Engagement and Communications, you will help coordinate and align communication efforts for public health programs and services. This includes project managing the development and implementation of efficient and effective communication and engagement strategies, and supporting efforts for priority projects. You will also contribute to integrated planning and reporting related to communication needs, marketing functions and websites management. In addition, you will lead the development and implementation of project plans and oversee the creation, design and/or maintenance of knowledge translation materials. This includes content creation, editorial review, quality assurance and content management. The role may also include providing consultation for capacity building, quality improvement, evaluation and performance measurement.
Description:
As a Health Promotion Facilitator II, you will lead and coordinate health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives and programs using a population health promotion approach. You will identify behavioural, social, political, economic, environmental and organizational factors that promote or compromise health and recommend evidence-informed strategies to address identified priorities. You will conduct situational analyses, literature reviews, environmental scans and focus groups to make recommendations as part of an integrated program planning and evaluation process. You will manage projects using standardized tools and techniques that are conducive or aligned with health promotion, disease and injury prevention practices. You will collaborate with key internal and external key stakeholders in project or program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement. You will facilitate community and staff engagement and build community and staff capacity around population health promotion priorities. You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and make recommendations.

Master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of three to five (3-5) years in health marketing, communication, engagement, health promotion or related field. Experience applying the population health promotion model, relevant health promotion strategies and determinants of health, health equity and healthy public policy. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and mobilize diverse groups and build consensus. Demonstrated advanced skills in writing and editing for various target audiences including senior leadership. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and translate information from multiple sources into high quality deliverables (technical reports, strategic plans and presentations). Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of disciplines, sectors and internal and external stakeholders/partners. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated success in developing and supporting multiple projects and multi-partner health marketing and engagement initiatives. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Experience in strategic planning, program planning, development and implementation. Experience in implementing and evaluating health marketing interventions. Ability to be resourceful, creative, adaptive and flexible. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to foster a climate of cooperation and builds solid relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees and other partners. Experience working independently in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams and demonstrated advanced skills with MS 365/Office, WordPress, content management and basic HTML an asset. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
