Completion of master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in health promotion or related field with substantial experience working with complex networks and partnerships. Project/program management and program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the population health promotion model, relevant health promotion strategies and determinants of health. Demonstrated ability to communicate (written, verbal and interpersonal) and report and grant writing. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of disciplines, sectors and internal and external stakeholders/partners. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and mobilize diverse groups and build consensus. Demonstrated ability to develop and apply creative approaches to program planning and development. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including conceptual, strategizing, and problem-solving. Ability to use Windows NT- based computer and software is required (Microsoft Office 2013, Publisher, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat) is required. Demonstrated skills in group facilitation, chairing meetings, teaching and time management and organizational skills. Request and accept direction as required. Current membership/registration in appropriate professional organization or discipline, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and expertise in early childhood development and health promotion/prevention is an asset. Experience in maternal/child health in breastfeeding is an asset. Experience in working with diverse and high-risk populations is an asset. Ability to be resourceful, creative, adaptive and flexible is an asset.
